Minimum System Requirements

You will need the following applications to use the files posted on the Internet Resource Centers:
  • Microsoft® Office Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, and Access® (For full functionality of Office files, including the ability to edit them, you will need the full versions of these programs installed on your computer. If you do not have full versions of the programs, you can open, save, and e-mail the files with the free readers available at www.microsoft.com.
  • Adobe® Acrobat®. (For full functionality of PDFs, including the ability to edit them, you will need a full version of Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer. If you do not have a full version of the program, you can open, save, and e-mail PDFs, as well as complete interactive PDFs, with the free reader available at www.adobe.com.)
  • Adobe® Flash® Player (To view Flash files, such as SWFs, you will need this free player, which can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.)
  • Audio Player (To play audio files, you will need an audio player installed on your computer. If you do not have one, you can download the free QuickTime player from www.apple.com.)
NOTE: Please note that the IRC is Adobe Flash based. We recommend that customers with iPads use the Puffin Academy browser to access our IRC.

How do I get an Educator account for the IRC?

Educators need a password to access the Internet Resource Center. If you are an Educator, follow these steps to request a new Educator Account and gain access to Educator materials:

Post-Secondary Educators

  1. Go to paradigmedu.emcp.com and click on Log In.
  2. Click on the Create a Profile button and create your account.
  3. Your Account Manager will be automatically notified of your account creation.
  4. Your Account Manager will contact you with Log In credentials to access your IRC content.
  5. If you have created an account and have not been contacted, you may contact your Account Manager directly. Click Here to use our Account Manager Locator.
 

How do I log in as an Educator?

Once you have received your password, use these steps to log in as an Educator:
  1. Click the Change Login button in the toolbar directly below the header image.
  2. Type your user name and password in the appropriate text boxes and then click the Log In button.
 

How do I retrieve my password?

  1. Please contact your Account Manager to have your Log In information resent to you. Click Here to use our Account Manager Locator.
 

How do I choose or change my state?

Some of our Internet Resource Center titles contain state-specific resources. If the title contains state-specific material, you will see the name of the state that is currently selected in the toolbar directly below the header image. Next to the listed state is the Change State button, which is used to change the selected state. If the title does not have state-specific material, the state name and the Change State button will not appear on the toolbar. Follow these steps to choose or change your state:
  1. Click the Change State button in the toolbar directly below the header image.
  2. Click the arrow next to the Select State drop-down list in the Select a State dialog box.
  3. Use the scrollbar to locate your state, and then click on the state name.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. You should now see the name of the state you selected displayed on the toolbar below the header image.
