My Performance Evaluation won’t start or run. What can I do?

Please download and run the tool at this link: http://response.emcp.com/upload/SNAP2013/Automated%20Assistant%20for%20SNAP%202013.zip.

This should automatically fix the Performance Evaluation. If you are still running into issues, please download and run our System Analysis tool at http://response.emcp.com/upload/SNAP2013/SystemAnalysis.zip and send the SystemAnalysis(.HTML) file, created on your Desktop, to support@emcp.com .

Another reason why your Performance Evaluation won’t start:

Make sure you create a new file in each Microsoft Office 2013 application (Word, Excel, PPT) after installation. Saving these files is not necessary. This process will ensure the Microsoft Office 2013 product is completely installed and will then be your “default” Microsoft Office application.

*If you still have Performance Evaluation issues after completing all of the steps listed above, please email Technical Support a screen shot of the error you are getting, email support@emcp.com.

My Performance Evaluation won’t launch while other Office applications are open. Why?

SNAP Performance Evaluations require Microsoft® Office 2013 in order to operate. However, none of the Office applications can be open at the time the Performance Evaluation is launched. This includes open Office applications on other user accounts on the same computer. All instances of all Office applications must be closed before the skill player will launch.

If you have Microsoft® Office 2013 and Microsoft® Office 2010 installed on the same computer, before you can take an evaluation, you’ll need to open a document in Microsoft® Office 2013 in order to set your Microsoft® Office preference for your computer.

My Performance Evaluation runs, but doesn’t mark my attempts correctly. Why?

To resolve this problem:

  1. Make sure you have opened a document in each Microsoft Office 2013 application (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). The Office application may launch an initialization process that can take several minutes to complete. You may need to open each office application, edit a file, save it, and close the application before taking the Performance Evaluation. This will allow your computer to launch the proper version of Office.
  2. Your exam should then run properly.

I can’t see the OK button in the dialog box. What can I do?

If you are unable to see the OK button in a dialog box, it’s likely that the resolution of your monitor is lower than the recommended. There is, however, a work-around. If you press the ENTER key, the dialog box will save and close as if you clicked the OK button.

I get this error: “Error loading this question. Please attempt another question.” What can I do?

Please download and run the tool at this link: http://response.emcp.com/upload/SNAP2013/Automated%20Assistant%20for%20SNAP%202013.zip. This should automatically fix the evaluation.

If you are still running into issues, please download and run our System Analysis tool at http://response.emcp.com/upload/SNAP2013/SystemAnalysis.zip and send the SystemAnalysis(.HTML) file, created on your Desktop, to support@emcp.com .

I get this error: “Local Path Not Found” What can I do?

To automatically fix this, download our tool here.

I get this error: “An internal error has occurred and your exam can no longer continue…”. What can I do?

If you see this error, it means the Performance Evaluation cannot make a connection to the internet.

  • Check your firewall and anti-virus software to ensure the connection isn’t being blocked.
  • It’s also possible you have HTTP proxy blocking the connection.

My Performance Evaluation step “click images” (show details) links are not displaying images. Why?

The captured images showing where on the screen the mouse was clicked during a Grade It may not always appear in the Results (Show Details) area. The capture feature is a utility of the Microsoft Operating System (OS). The OS will disable this utility when computer processing resources reach a maximum usage level. To prevent this, make sure there are no other applications running before launching a skill exam. However, some computer systems do not have the resources to run the capture utility. The capture utility, where present or not, does not affect the score of a skill exam.

What is a 1406 Error?

The 1406 error has to do with the Webroot anti-virus software blocking the installation changes to the operating system registration. To get SNAP successfully installed, please disable Webroot, then run the Check Configuration Tool again which will re-install the SNAP Player. The Check Configuration Tool install button is located on the snap2013.emcp.com home page.

Unfortunately, being that Webroot has many versions with different steps to take to disable, we ask students to contact Webroot directly for help in disabling.
