My eBook is appearing as a blank page?

If your eBook appears as though it is loading, then loads a blank grey or blue page, you are likely having an issue with flash. These directions will resolve this problem.

Can’t exit full screen mode

To exit full screen mode, press the F11 key on your keyboard. You can also try the Alt key plus the F4 key simultaneously to close the window. To prevent this from happening each time you load this screen, you can also follow the steps below to cause it to open in a normal window for future use.

  1. Close all browser windows except for your eBook window.
  2. Make sure you have used the F11 key to exit full screen mode.
  3. All windows except for the eBook window should be closed. The eBook window should not be maximized. Grab the corner of this browser window with your mouse and stretch it to the size you want. If you want windows to open full screen you have to stretch it as far as possible with the corners. DO NOT use the maximize button.
  4. Once you have this window stretched to the size you want. Click the X to close it.
  5. All new windows should open to the size you just set in the steps above. If Internet Explorer’s browser size memory changes to full screen in the future, follow these instructions again.

Why can’t I scroll to the top of the ebook page after zooming in?

Sometimes, after using the zoom tool to zoom in to an e-book, the top of the page can scroll out of view.  To remedy this situation, simply click the hand or hand grabber tool and drag the page lower on the screen.

My eBook has colored lines on it.

If you see colored lines appearing on your eBook pages when you zoom in, then you are experiencing a bug in the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. To fix this, you will need to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 11, and install Adobe Flash Player 10. We have directions written up here.

Please contact support@emcp.com if you have any questions about these directions.

Where do the students stickies and highlights save to? Can this be edited, changed or modified?

Audio Button is not Functional in Interactive Page

In some cases, the audio button in the Interactive Page does nothing when clicked.

This appears to be specific to Firefox and Chrome, due to their internal PDF reader which may not support audio links. Firstly, Adobe Reader needs to be installed from http://get.adobe.com/reader . Then, the browser needs to be configured to use Adobe Reader as the default PDF reader using the directions at the appropriate link below:

Firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them#w_using-a-pdf-reader-plugin
Chrome: http://blogs.adobe.com/vikrant/2010/12/use-adobe-plugins-to-view-pdfs-inside-google-chrome/
